The Fortissimo Jazz Orchestra will perform at Old Cal Coffee this Saturday June 13th at 5 pm.
The San Marcos Unified School fortissimo-logo-FINALDistrict and Kid’s College are launching an Orchestra Program. The Fortissimo Orchestra Music Program began January 2015 at Joli Ann Leichtag Elementary School. This program is modeled after the hugely successful and transformative program started over 35 years ago in Caracas, Venezuela, called El Sistema.
The Fortissimo Orchestra Music Program is an after school program that began with 3rd grade students. These students are receiving intensive string music experience. The program is free for these students from low-income families. Our plan is to grow the program to other schools in the San Marcos School District as funds become available.
