If you have never been to the San Diego Botanic Garden in Encinitas, you’re missing out. The Botanic Garden is 37 acres (see map) of amazing beautiful plants and landscapes. The Garden also includes several incredibly unique play, relax and view areas, including a massive tree house, lookout tower, sand pit, interactive toy-boat river, model train display, pond, waterfall and more. Normal operating hours are 9am – 5pm, daily.

Every December, during certain weeks, the San Diego Botanic Garden sets up for their annual Garden of Lights. From 5pm 9pm, the San Diego Botanic Garden transforms into a dazzling winter wonderland with over 100,000 sparkling lights that illuminate the Garden.
