Horse Heritage Festival @ Walnut Grove Park: Oct 21, 2018

Every year in October, the San Marcos Historical Society presents The Horse Heritage Festival at Walnut Grove Park in San Marcos (map). The Horse Heritage Festival is a family oriented event with entertainment and activities for all ages. Enjoy pony rides, petting corral, pumpkin patch, BBQ, frontier games, demonstrations, crafts and more.

Proceeds from the event go towards Walnut Grove Horse Park improvements, V-Spurs, TERI, San Marcos Historical Society and the San Marcos FFA. The Walnut Grove Horse Park is the only public equestrian facility in San Diego County. It is used throughout the year for a variety of horse shows, as an evacuation center when necessary, and as a staging area for accessing an extensive network of multi-use city and county trails. Walnut Grove is the ONLY public equestrian park in San Diego County, so it is crucial to maintain these facilities.
